Superintendent's Update

Posted by Larry Roth on 7/22/2020

Parents, Students, and Patrons,

The State Board of Education did not pass the Governor's orders today with a vote of five in favor, five opposed. Many of the comments from S.B.O.E. members voting against the measure highlighted the importance or recognizing the varying impact of COVID-19 in different regions of the state. This leaves the decision to the local school board in each of the 286 school districts across the state.

USD 439 is considering the current COVID-19 conditions in our area and are in close contact with our health experts and other districts in the county. We are committed to opening our schools as soon as we can while also being mindful of the health concerns of all of our families and faculty. We are committed to looking at different learning options for our students and families with varying needs at this time.

The board and faculty of 439 appreciate your patience over the past five months. We look forward to seeing our Cardinal family back in our buildings again as soon as possible. Information will be shared as decisions continue to be made during these ever changing times.
