Parent and Students,
There are a lot of questions about where things are currently regarding your school. I wanted to give you an update. At this time, the school must abide by very specific regulations particularly the number of people in our building and regulating those who may have been exposed to the coronavirus. All visitors must contact the office or use our support email email@example.com prior to coming into one of the building.
School Lunches: A survey was sent to all parents via email. Please fill out the survey as soon as you can so we know how many meals to prepare on Monday. If you did not receive the survey, please send us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get the link to you. Lunches will be “grab and go” style. Breakfast for the next day will be sent with the lunch. Please use the “pickup and drop off” lanes at the grade school and we will bring it to your car. We will need keep track of who gets a lunch for state reimbursement so please be patient with us. There is no charge for children ages 1-18. This process will be a little clumsy at the beginning.
Student Medications: If your student has medication in the nurse’s office, please email Mrs. Mosiman at email@example.com to schedule a time to pick up the medication.
Computer/Internet Access: Another important part of the survey sent addresses access to a computer, laptop, or iPad within the home as well as access to the internet. We will be trying to address these issues as quickly as possible.
Student Items: We will be setting up times for you and your student to pick up needed items that are at school. We are restricted by the State Department of Education as to how many people we can have in the building at one time. Again, please be patient with us. Office staff will be back on Monday. We are anticipating a lot of questions when we return. The phone lines may be tied-up for a while. I ask that you please consider using the support email for questions answered.
District Facilities: At this time, all district facilities (inside and out) are closed to the public. Again, this decision is handed down from KSDE. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience.
Instruction: At this time, 439 is planning on resuming instruction at some level on March 30th. At this time, instruction and curriculum will be online and some paper/pencil materials. Our teachers will be working hard next week to get this process planned for your students.
Parents and students, we here at 439 are going to do everything we can to keep these last nine weeks moving along for everybody. There are many unanswered questions that we will all figure out together. Things seem to change every day but our goal to educate each one of our students remains the same.
Stay Strong Cardinals!
