Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI)

Dear Cardinal Families,

At USD 439, we are committed to treating all students with dignity and respect. We are committed to limiting the use of any Emergency Safety Intervention, such as seclusion and restraint. We encourage and train our staff to utilize other tools to manage behaviors which may include but are not limited to prevention techniques, de-escalation techniques, and positive behavioral intervention strategies. Several policies regarding the use of Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI) are located on this webpage.
