Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Katy Sutton, and this is my first year as a teacher. I am the new science teacher for the junior high and high school students. In 2020, I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Biology from Kansas State University. Growing up in a K-State family it only seemed fitting to spend some extra time there and get my Masters Degree as well. The following year of 2021 I graduated with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
During the December of my Masters Program, I got married to my husband Caleb Sutton. He also attended K-State and got his degree in Industrial Engineering and his career brought us to Wichita. I could not be more thankful for this move as I was able to find such an amazing community to begin my teaching career with.
My interests outside of teaching and science consist of traveling, spending time with my friends and family, searching for new plants, and finding a good book to read. I also enjoy spending time out hiking and on the soccer field. This last spring my family and I hiked to an active volcano in Iceland!
I am very excited to participate in the Sedgwick community, to share my enthusiasm for science and start to grow my relationship with my students and their families. Go Cardinals!
